2 kilos of your favourite flovour of gelato (I suggest Pistachio or Stracciatella)
2 cups ground chocolate cookies
1 cup butter
1 teaaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 bar dark chocolate
200ml fresh whipping cream
After buying your ice cream bring it home and let it melt in the refrigerator.
Melt the butter in a small sauce pan and mix it with the chocolate cookies ground into crumbs, cinnamon and salt. the consistency will be like wet sand.
Use an 8 inch pie dish or tart pan and pour the ground cookie mix into it. Push the ground cookie mix into the edges and up the sides and evenly on the bottom. Bake in a 150 C oven for 10 minutes. Remove and let it cool down. Pour in the melted gelato
and cover with plastic wrap. Put into freezer for 30 minutes until it has become solid again.
Decorate with shavings of chocolate curls from the bar of chocolate. Serve slices with whipped cream. -christine
